Favorite Thing #4: Prehistoric Garden The Calkins Science Center is the kind of place that builds a 1,700 square foot greenhouse isn’t enough, and then build an open-air Prehistoric Garden. When I was a student at the Center, I liked taking breaks in what felt like a set from Jurassic Park.
Favorite Thing #3: The Cadaver Room At the risk of sounding macabre, I’m impressed that the Cadaver Room is home to four cadavers.
Favorite Thing #2: Tutoring Labs There’s a tutoring lab for both the Physical and Biological Sciences! And the tutors don’t just include students, but actual mathematicians and scientists with Masters degrees.
Favorite Thing #1: The Building’s That’s Also a Riddle Even though the Calkins Science Center is five storeys tall, there’s a ground-floor exit on every floor! I’ll let the physics students figure out how that’s possible. Unfortunately photos of Calkins Science Center won’t help you figure it out.
