![]() We all know the phrase: An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Though eating an apple every day may not guarantee to keep the doctor away, it definitely will help. Apples are a great source of fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C, and have many other benefits. They strengthen bones and increase bone density, lower asthma risk, lower cholesterol, lower the risk of a variety of cancers, lower the body’s need for insulin, and aid in weight loss. Autumn is the best season to find a variety of apples for every taste—especially in Michigan, one of the top-5 apple producing states in the US. And, contrary to popular belief, the apple is not the forbidden fruit. Bite into one today! There's nothing like a crisp, tart (or sweet) apple. Yum, my favorite—Honeycrisp! But don’t limit yourself to apples. Eating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables every day is always a great way to stay healthy. Check out your market for squash, cauliflower, beets, and cabbage—just a few from the bounty that’s plentiful in the fall. ©Medical Mile LLC www.medicalmile.com Quote this article on your site To create link towards this article on your website, copy and paste the text below in your page.
