According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percent of US adults age 20 and over who are overweight or obese is 66 percent. So, if you’re like the majority of the United States adult population, you’re overweight. Unfortunately, with increased weight come increased health concerns. And if this concerns you, it should. It’s time to take action. Begin by seeing your doctor. He or she can give you the information you need to begin a healthy diet and exercise regimen. Consultation with a nutritionist or dietitian on healthy eating and diet also may be in order. It’s vital that you begin to take the necessary steps to get healthy. This will mean less processed foods and a more nutritious diet based on the food pyramid; more fruits and vegetables and less fats and sugars. And it will mean less sitting and more walking. It will take determination and a desire to succeed. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, find an accountability partner (or a support group)—someone else who is motivated to lose weight and will help you to do so. ©Medical Mile LLC www.medicalmile.com Quote this article on your site To create link towards this article on your website, copy and paste the text below in your page.
