What do 5 kid-authors have in common? They each have a mom ... and each of their moms has cancer.

Samantha Cheshire, Naomi Parker, David Whynot, Delaney Whynot, and Drake Yarian are not your typical authors. For one thing, they were 5th and 6th graders when they wrote a very touching book detailing their experiences about their moms having cancer.
The book has had a wide audience, and
can be purchased for gift giving or for your own reading.

Reeths-Puffer school counsellor Kelley Peel spoke with us after the Van Andel Institute Ribbon Cutting. The kids were at another table, having been up on the podium with the famous dignitaries at the event.

Kelley shared with us what admiration and respect she had for this group of children. While dealing with sad and tragic circumstances, she stressed that the overall message is one of hope. As a Muskegon Chronicle article Quote this article on your site

Hello my name is maddie and i was wondering if you knew how i could talk to kids
with cancer and how i could send them gifts. I am a kid myself and i am just now
going to 6th grade! I was watching tv today and a show came on about little girl
with cancer and she didn't care about herself just about other and she always
said that love comes first and not her. So she went to the hospital where she
was when she had cancer and all the wales were white and she thought that they
needed more color so she got a lot of people together and they painted the
hospital so that all of her friends that were still there that had cancer could
feel like they were at home away from home! At the end of the show they tould
everyone that she was just a little 8 year old girl! That show touched my heart
and now I feel that i could help in some sort of way. I may be a kid but I know
that me and other kids my age can make a difference in people's lives. ...
